This birding trip will cover the always delightful combo of Village Point & Bayfront Park in Daphne. We will meet in the Village Pointe parking lot which can often have good birds flitting around such as Golden-crowned Kinglets, Pine Warblers, and Brown-headed Nuthatch.
From the parking lot shrikes to the sea birds cruising the jetties and fast-moving water of the Perdido Pass, this trip is a fun wintertime stop!
This trip will cover the marsh boardwalk area of Meaher State Park, boasting some incredible views of the gateway to the Mobile-Tensaw Delta and the birds that rely on it!

Today's field trip will take us further afield - to the Coleman Lake/Pinhoti Trailhead area of the Talladega National Forest - where we will spend the first part of our morning gazing skyward, in hopes of finding Golden Eagle(s) soaring overhead.

As autumn straddles winter in mid-November, we’ll head to a pair of fruitful birding sights in northern Alabama. Beginning at the riparian habitats of the Hays Nature Preserve along the Flint River, we’ll then travel to the field ecosystems of the Alabama A&M Research Station. Past November trips to these two locations have netted over 50 species.

Join us to look for fall migrants along the greenway beside the Cahaba River in Trussville. We can expect to see species such as wrens, kinglets, woodpeckers, and chickadees. We will be watching along the water for Great Blue and Green herons and possible kingfishers. Scanning the skies we’ll look for hawks, vultures, and maybe even a passing Bald Eagle.
