Join us for a scenic birding walk at Sportsman Lake Park in Cullman! Just off I-65, this peaceful lakeside trail winds through towering pines, offering easy walking paths and fantastic birding opportunities.
Spring migration is in full swing, so keep your eyes (and binoculars) ready for warblers, Red-winged Blackbirds, Great Blue Herons, Belted Kingfishers, and even the occasional Osprey! You never know what you’ll spot, from lively songbirds to soaring raptors.
Meet-up Option: If you're coming from Birmingham or farther south, join our carpool at Target in Fultondale at 7 AM.

Accessibility: We plan on traveling up to 2 miles for the day as a group. At all times, we will be reasonably close to our cars. We will be walking on flat to moderate terrain that may be both paved and unpaved and across grassy areas. While this trip is accessible for most people, please note that the trails may have sticks, stones, roots, or other debris that may cause tripping hazards. The park has benches occasionally throughout the trail, and restrooms are located close to the parking lot.
