Before Swift Night Out later in downtown Huntsville, join us for a birding adventure at nearby Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve. Alabama Audubon Ambassadors Tim Gels, Nick Morgan, and Brittney Carnell will be enjoying some pre-game songbirding at Alabama's favorite water feature at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve. We will hang around the water feature and may take short out-and-backs around the property in search of fall birds.

Once we begin to approach twilight, we will depart from the preserve to watch the swifts in Huntsville. We will meet at the 106 Jefferson Hotel in Huntsville, AL at 6:00pm for the Swift Night Out.

Meeting Time and Place: We will meet at the pavilion in the main parking lot at 3:00 PM. From there, we will quietly travel to the water feature to see who comes to the water feature.

Directions: Coming from Huntsville, cross Chapman Mountain and u-turn at Moores Mill Road. When safe, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. Drive through the gate and down the gravel road to the parking area at the bottom of the hill.

Target Bird Species: Yellow-rumped and Orange-crowned Warblers / Hermit Thrushes / Eastern Screech-Owl / Brown Thrashers / Ruby and Golden-crowned Kinglets / Carolina Chickadees and Tufted Titmice
