Spring along the Alabama Gulf Coast is a magical time of year for birds. Neotropical migrants, shorebirds, and vagrant rarities keep birders coming back year after year.
We are excited to bring you a schedule of trips to highlight all the above and put you in the best position to make new birding memories.
To whet your appetite for Alabama Coastal BirdFest, below you will find easy access to eBird hotspots and checklists for all of our trips, plus a list of spring rarities for the past decade.

Mobile County

There are no eBird checklists that accurately represents this trip, but you can expect flybys from seabirds, shorebirds, waders, and more.
Pelican Hook, Shorebirds of Dauphin Island: this trip will cover

Dauphin Island Pier and the beachfront that may have birds similar to Pelican Peninsula.
Shorebirds, Waders, and More on Dauphin Island Causeway
There is no hotspot for the exact location of this trip, but may include species similar to what can be seen along the Dauphin Island Causeway and Bayfront Park (Mobile Co).
Tern Island Expedition
There is currently no eBird checklist for this hotspot due to lack of accessibility for most, but trust us that the birding here is fantastic!
Baldwin County
Delta Explorer: Marshes & History of the Lower Delta
This trip will cover a lot of ground by boat, and will have birds similar in nature to Blakely Historic State Park, Five Rivers Delta Resource Center, and Meaher State Park
Delta Explorer: Upper Delta Rivers Loop
This trip will cover a lot of ground by boat, and will have birds similar in nature to Live Oak Landing and Lower Bryants Landing
