Join Alabama Audubon for our Speaker Series this fall, featuring special guest Fionah Njeri! Fionah will discuss ways that Kenyan farmers and conservationists help protect endangered species, live more sustainably, and how some of these helpful, often ancient, agricultural practices can be applied to your own property no matter where you are, to restore and protect nature while working with it. 

Over the years, Fionah has worked with communities across Kenya to restore degraded landscapes, promote biodiversity, and advance nature-based solutions rooted in indigenous ecological knowledge. Her work highlights the vital connections between healthy soils, native plants, insects, water systems, and wildlife, demonstrating that conserving biodiversity begins with restoring resilient ecosystems. Fionah champions the sustainable use and conservation of indigenous plant species while supporting community livelihoods and environmental education. She is passionate about sharing practical approaches to ecological restoration that help both people and nature thrive.
