Online Courses: Introduction to eBird and Merlin ($)

Join Alabama Audubon and Program Coordinator Andrew Lydeard for a dive into a course is designed to introduce you the world of digital birding!

The course will focus on two of the most helpful electronic resources in birding, Merlin and eBird. Both of these revolutionary apps are produced by Cornell University and incredibly valuable to birders of all skillsets and levels and can even be used together to maximize your birding effort.

Andrew will first cover the basics of Merlin, including the field guide functions, sound ID, and photo ID, before discussing how eBird can help tally your lists, explore real-time bird data & rare bird alerts, and keep your life lists up to date. The course will last about an hour with 10 - 15 minutes at the end for a brief discussion, comments, and questions.
