Red-tailed Hawk

Join Alabama Audubon in celebrating Birdability Week this year from October 18 - 25, 2026! This week-long event is dedicated to making birding accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of ability. This year's Birdability theme is "Bird Where You Are". For this outing, we will be birding along the paved road in search of the many species of woodland birds found in the area.

Meeting Time and Place: We will meet at the Venice Road entrance of the park promptly at noon and explore along the road in search of birds!

Target Birds: Hermit Thrushes, Blue-headed Vireos, Red-shouldered Hawks, Pileated Woodpeckers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Pine Warblers

Registration is free but required.

Accessibility: This event will cover .5 miles of pavement and gravel terrain with slight uphill and downhill elevations. There are primitive bathrooms at the park but no sitting benches.
