[Coastal] Celebrating Birdability Week / Gulf Coast Eco Center (Gulf Shores) (Free)

  • Gulf Coast Eco Center 1650 Eco Trail Gulf Shores, AL, 36542 United States (map)

Join Alabama Audubon in celebrating Birdability Week this year from October 20 - 26, 2025! This week-long event is dedicated to making birding accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of ability. Our Coastal Team will lead a Big Sit during the morning at the Gulf Coast Eco Center from the Lookout Porch, which overlooks palmetto and pine scrub, a perfect place for staging migratory songbirds as migration nears the end. Morning flight in this area can be very productive as warblers, thrushes, and vireos work their way through the area, fattening up for their journeys. There will also be the opportunity for a short out-and-back trip around the campus to explore some of the trails for those interested.

Cost: This event is free but registration is required

Trip Leaders: Your trip leaders will be Cortney Weatherby (cortney@alaudubon.org/402-297-1775 [day of trip use only]), Olivia Morpeth (olivia@alaudubon.org), and Sam Fishman (sam@alaudubon.org). Please reach out to Cortney Weatherby (cortney@alaudubon.org) if you require any special accommodations, have questions, or cannot attend, so that we can better assist you on the day of the event.
