BLACK BELT COORDINATOR
TIM HIGGINS
Tim Higgins grew up splitting time between Detroit, MI and Gulf Shores, AL. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from The University of Alabama, he worked for several years in historic preservation and event management for the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society, and later for the Weeden House Museum in Huntsville. After moving to Nashville, Tim found success as a singer-songwriter, and has songs featured in Rolling Stone, The Bluegrass Situation, and NPR Music.
In 2019, Tim and his partner, textile artist, Aaron Sanders Head, moved to Greensboro, AL, where they quickly began exploring the many beautiful parks, backroads, and historic sites the region boasts. Since 2021, Tim has served as the coordinator of the Black Belt Birding Festival.
