Wood Thrush by Matt Hunter

Tannehill State Historical Park encompasses more than 1,500 acres and is home to iron furnaces dating to the 1830s. During the Civil War, these furnaces were used by the Confederate States and were located along the banks of Roupes Creek. Today, the park’s expansive woodland habitat provides an ideal environment for observing both migratory birds and year-round resident species.
