Beer and birds come together to celebrate and learn about the plovers of the Alabama coast at our first annual OkPLOVERfest!
The Alabama coast is critical for nesting and wintering habitat for these small charismatic shorebirds, two of which are species of conservation concern within the state. Whether you are a bird lover or brew lover or somewhere in between this will be the place to be on October 26th!
We will be at Braided River Brewing Company from 3:00-8:00 PM.
This is a family friendly event with activities including:
Our team of plover-experts on site to share fun facts about these adorable birds and how you can help the Alabama coast be a great place to be a plover!
We will have fun swag available including on site custom t-shirt printing with hand carved plover blocks by native Alabama artist Mary Beth Meeks. All proceeds will go directly back into coastal bird conservation in Mobile and Baldwin county!
Activities for kids!
A plover-themed selfie station!
Join a league of coastal bird stewards from across the Gulf Coast by taking the “Plover Pledge” to protect and steward our feathered friends.
It’s going to be an afternoon of plover-filled fun so grab a friend and we will see you there! A huge thank you to Braided River Brewing for hosting us for this event and being an avid supporter of conservation organizations in our area.
