NATURE@NOON
ON THE COAST / BAYFRONT PARK
FREE WITH REGISTRATION / SPACE IS LIMITED
REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15 AT 12AM
Join our Coastal staff for a free lunchtime walk as we stroll Bayfront Park in Daphne for birds and more!
This location always provides a diverse array of birds so we decided to revisit it again after January's walk was productive and fun. February brings the change to see waterfowl species that will soon be on their way, an interesting variety of gull and tern species, and some of our favorite winter regulars like Ruby-Crowned Kinglets, Eastern Phoebes, or Cedar Waxwings.
Our typical route is to start by surveying the open field and edge habitat near the parking lot and waters edge before we move onto the wetland boardwalk. Depending on what the group is interested in seeing more of we will either head towards the beach for shorebirds and waterbirds or enjoy the woodland trail to see what songbirds might be buzzing about.
All ages and birding levels are welcome. We will have binoculars available to borrow.

EQUITY, DIVERSITY, & INCLUSION
Through more than seventy-five years of conservation work in one of our nation’s most ecologically rich states, Alabama Audubon has seen firsthand how diversity strengthens natural communities. This same principle applies to human communities, which is why our organization is committed to providing equitable and inclusive opportunities for all Alabamians to learn about and enjoy wild birds, their habitats, and the natural world. One of the best ways to support that belief is by valuing and actively seeking to strengthen diversity among our staff, our board, and our membership. To that end, Alabama Audubon welcomes everyone to participate in our work, and strives to make our programs, classes, and events welcome, inclusive, and accessible to all.
