LOCATION DESCRIPTION / In-person:It's that time of year again - all the warblers look the same! As most of us know, warblers in their breeding plumages can still be a task to view and identify due to their quick and elusive nature, usually well above our heads, and offer few good looks for a reliable identification. When fall comes back around, this task becomes even tougher as many of these birds molt into non-breeding plumage that can be very similar among various species. Join Program Coordinator Andrew Lydeard for an online course that dives into the exciting, yet often frustrating, time of year when tricky lookalike warblers can give even the most experienced birders trouble with identification. This comprehensive program is designed for birders eager to conquer the challenge of identifying these fast, perplexing birds during their fall migration. This course will cover life history, habitat preferences, behaviors, and of course, how to identify field marks that separate species in the field that will help you gain the skills to distinguish between similar species with confidence, using practical tips and visual aids that make even the most subtle differences clear. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned birder, this course will elevate your warblering to new heights. Participants will receive a Zoom link to the emails that they registered with before the course, so be sure to check your email before the event.
