Event/ Program Description: Lake Guntersville is always a productive place to visit. We expect to see Bald eagles, of course, but there is much more to entertain a birder there -- Loons and horned grebes in numbers, the chance for both diving and "puddle" ducks, gulls, Kingfishers, and "quality" songbirds. A swing through the state park generally gets us nice looks at Wood ducks and the kind of up-close experiences with White-tailed deer that are hard to achieve anywhere else. The views from around the lake can be simply spectacular. Come on out and let's see what we can find.
LOCATION DETAILS: If we choose to drive through the state park, a small admission fee is charged. Please note this is a park entrance fee. Otherwise, there should be no special costs incurred. Restroom facilities are available in several locations along our expected route.
This is an all-day trip please bring water and lunch, and dress accordingly. Please note the weather forecast FOR GUNTERSVILLE for the day of the trip, as the temperature and wind chill can differ significantly there can differ significantly from home. Headwear and gloves, as well as outerwear that repels wind, could be a great help on a chilly, blustery day in Guntersville. Word to the wise...
