Welcome to the 2026 John L. Borom Alabama Coastal BirdFest, celebrating the extraordinary birdlife of the Alabama Coast. Now in its 23rd year and proudly hosted by Alabama Audubon, BirdFest brings together birders, families, and nature lovers to experience peak spring migration while inspiring the protection of the region’s unique habitats. 

All proceeds support our Coastal Bird Stewardship Program.

Special Guest & Keynote: Bonner Black
Join us on Thursday, April 23rd, for a special evening featuring award-winning Nashville-based singer-songwriter Bonner Black, who will serve as our keynote speaker, performer, and birding guide. Bonner brings her dual passions for music and birding to the stage, and with more than 127,000 followers and 20 million+ views on social media, she’s built a vibrant community around her bird-themed videos and original music. Don’t miss this unique blend of storytelling, song, and nature!

At Alabama Coastal BirdFest she will share an inspiring keynote, “Beyond the Birds” (originally presented at the Delta Birding Festival in Catalonia, Spain), perform an acoustic set of her songs, and co-lead several festival events.

This opening celebration for Coastal BirdFest will include a social hour, drinks, and dinner.
