DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Alabama Audubon is seeking a self-directed, detail-oriented individual to lead and oversee its membership and fundraising program as Development Director. As a key member of our senior leadership team, this individual works in close consultation with the Executive Director to coordinate organizational fundraising approaches, identify grant opportunities, write grants and/or lead the coordination of grant submissions, cultivate donors, and execute both short- and long-term strategies to meet the financial needs of our growing organization. As such, this position presents an excellent opportunity to shape the future of one of Alabama’s most dynamic conservation organizations. This is a full-time, exempt, and salaried position, and on occasion requires work on evenings and weekends. Starting salary of $65,000-$80,000 is negotiable based on qualifications. The benefits package includes health and dental coverage, retirement contribution, paid vacation, and professional development opportunities.

HOW TO APPLY To apply, email your application (in PDF format) to the Alabama Audubon Hiring Committee at info@alaudubon.org, with the subject line: DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR APPLICATION. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Applications should be a single PDF file that includes a cover letter, resume, and two professional writing samples. The cover letter should summarize your experiences in non-profit leadership and/or development, including track record in fundraising. Please preface writing samples with the context for the sample and describe whether you were the sole author (preferred) or coauthor of the sample. References may be required upon request. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. No calls, please.
