Tune into our Facebook page on Wednesday, June 24th, at 9 a.m. CDT for a special Pride month Let’s Go Birding Together Facebook Live bird walk with our Outreach & Communications Director, Sarah Randolph, and board member Doug Baulos. Together, they’ll be birding around B.E.E. (Birmingham Eastside EcoGardens) in #BIRDingham. In the event of inclement weather, this virtual event will be rescheduled for Monday, June 29th.
No need to register—simply go to facebook.com/alaudubon (@alaudubon) that morning and click on the post once you see we’ve gone live!
“Y’all means ALL.” We strive to be the Audubon for everyone, creating a safe space of diversity and inclusion so that all are welcome, regardless of their race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, national origin, religion, or other identifying factors. We welcome those who identify as LGBTQIA+, allies, families, and anyone who wants to enjoy an outdoor experience that is inclusive.
Above: Sometimes called the “rainbow bird,” painted buntings can be found in the Alabama Black Belt and on the coast. In recent years, one of our Walter Coxe grant recipients discovered they’re breeding in the Black Belt. Learn more at alaudubon.org/waltercoxe and in our Spring 2019 issue of Flicker Flashes.
Even though the state has reopened, it’s important to stay safe during this pandemic. See our full COVID-19 statement at alaudubon.org/covid-19.
