January Membership Program: Assessing Patterns and Causes of Bumble Bee Decline in North America
January 21, 2016, 7:00 pm–8:30 pm
Join us on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to hear Dr. Jeffrey Lozier, assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alabama. Dr. Lozier’s research focuses on utilizing molecular markers to study populations of wildlife. One of his main projects is a nationwide collaboration looking at the decline of native bumble bee species. His presentation will focus on efforts to gather baseline data on native bee populations as well as study potential causes of this decline and solutions to reverse it.
Due to temporary construction at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Audubon will meet in the Adventure Classroom on the first floor for our January and February membership programs.
