Gosse Nature Walk #6: Cahaba River Walk
April 14, 2017, 12:00 pm–2:00 pm
Free

Come explore a springtime riparian habitat with the Birmingham Audubon scientific staff! Join Outreach Director Ansel Payne (on the lookout for migratory birds) and Program Director Andy Coleman (on the lookout for southeastern endemic turtle species) as they tour this interesting public park on the banks of the diverse, free-flowing Cahaba River.
The details
Meetup is at noon in the park’s main parking lot, located at 3529 Overton Road in Mountain Brook, GPS: 33.480616, -86.713466. (Note that some online information refers to a Cahaba River Walk park in Irondale; that site is also great, but will put you five miles upriver from our destination!) Feel free to stay for part or all of the time, as the park is small and we won’t venture far from the parking lot.
As always, Gosse Nature Walks are free and open to the public; just be sure to bring water, snacks, comfortable shoes, and seasonally appropriate attire. (We can provide binoculars and field guides, but encourage you to bring your own.)
To RSVP for this event, please email Ansel here.
