Gosse Nature Walk #3: Vulcan Park
November 7, 2016, 7:00 am–9:00 am

[Photo courtesy Vulcan Park & Museum] Need some nature before you start your Election Day work week? If so, join Dr. Payne for the third installation in Birmingham Audubon’s Gosse Nature Walk series! Meet your fellow naturalists at Vulcan Park’s main parking lot (33.490749, -86.794935) at 7 a.m. sharp for two hours of outdoor explorations. Together, we’ll talk Red Mountain geology, Alabama’s hawk migrations, and southeastern tree diversity, all while taking in great views of Jones Valley. Even if you can only stay for part of the time, we’d love see you there! As always, Gosse Nature Walks are free and open to the public; just be sure to bring water, snacks, comfortable shoes, and seasonally appropriate attire. (We can provide binoculars and field guides, but encourage you to bring your own.)
