Bird Walk: Love Your State Parks Day!

Join Birmingham Audubon Naturalist Dr. Ansel Payne for a bird walk at Oak Mountain State Park, one of many great events planned for “Love Your State Parks Day.”

Celebrate and support the State Parks System in Alabama. Participate in hikes, nature talks and other fun activities. “Love Your State Parks Day” is being held to raise awareness of the importance of, and to generate community support for, preserving, nurturing and supporting Alabama state parks. The objectives of this event are to strategically increase attendance at Alabama’s State Parks through social media, word of mouth, and convincing individual park directors to support this initiative. Special programs in connection with this festival on September 24 are designed to increase attendance at our State Parks and allow supporters of the parks to gain additional impact for their message, especially support for Amendment Two to permanently protect Alabama’s State Parks funding.
