ACCOMMODATIONS AND INFORMATION
Lakepoint Resort State Park is about 8 miles north of Eufaula, Alabama, on US 431.
The reservation numbers for the Park Lodge are 1-800-544-5253 or 334-687-8011. Please indicate that you are with AOS.
If you cannot get into the Lodge, there are also a number of motels in nearby Eufaula.
Note that there will be a banquet Saturday night. There will be no Friday night potluck supper.

Burning and Banding: Conservation and Research in Georgia’s Grasslands
About the Speaker:
Charlie Muise, Georgia’s Important Bird Area Coordinator, will discuss Georgia’s active participation in the National Audubon Society’s Important Bird Area program, which seeks to identify and protect key areas around the world that provide critical habitat for birds. Besides running banding stations at two locations in Georgia, Charlie Muise has participated in studies on the effects of prescribed fires and native prairie restoration on songbird populations, and also in studies of whimbrel and oystercatcher migratory routes, as well as wintering habitat and distribution of Nelson’s, Henslow’s, seaside, and saltmarsh sparrows.
