Chimney Swift Love: A joint fundraiser between Birmingham Audubon and Paperworkers Local
February 14, 2019, 5:00 pm–8:00 pm$5
Update: Registration is now closed, but you can still pay at the door! $5 cash or card will be accepted at the door.
Hearts will be beating swiftly at this unique Valentine’s Day event, benefiting Birmingham Audubon and Paperworkers Local—Birmingham’s printmaking co-op. Join us for an evening filled with bird-centric art and conversation at the Paperworkers Local studio and gallery space.
Guests will have an opportunity to pull their own special edition print of a beautiful piece of Chimney Swift art from a hand-sketched copper plate, created by Paperworkers Local member and artist Linda Merry. Merry, along with other members of the co-op, attended the Birmingham Audubon Swift Nights Out last fall. It’s no secret we love these aerial acrobats, and our hearts soar when we see artists inspired by our avian friends.
Come out for a bird-lover’s (and art-lover’s!) Valentine’s Day to remember!
The details: Admission is $5, payable at the registration link above or at the door. Registration is encouraged to help us have an idea of the total number of guests. Come by Paperworkers Local (2717 Seventh Ave South, Suite 203) anytime between 5–8 p.m. on Thursday, February 14th. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.
Guests will have the option to pull their own special edition print of the Chimney Swift art by Linda Merry for a requested donation of $35. You may pre-order your print through Paperworkers Local at the PayPal link below (this will help us ensure we have enough materials in advance as well). Other Chimney Swift art by local artists will also be available for a requested donation. If you plan to pull your own print of the Chimney Swift art, please bring an old shirt or smock with you to avoid getting ink on your clothing.
There is parking on the street, in the lots in front of and beside the two-story building where they are located, and also behind the building. If anyone in your party is in a wheelchair, they can come through the back entrance of their neighbor’s space as they all share a hallway in the back of the building. You may call Sarah Randolph on her cell at 205-422-4124 if you need instructions for wheelchair accessibility or if you get lost and need directions.Pre-order your print here!
