Gosse Nature Walk #19: Red Mountain Park
January 4, 2019, 12:00 pm–2:00 pm

Our nineteenth Gosse Nature Walk takes us to Red Mountain Park, Birmingham’s largest urban green space and a must-visit site for outdoors explorers of all types. Chris Oberholster, our Partnership & Policy Director, joins us to provide a botanist’s perspective of life on the mountain at one of the South’s great, post-industrial ecological recoveries.
The details: Meet up is at noon in the Red Mountain parking lot, located at the intersection of Frankfurt Drive and Lyon Lane (2011 Frankfurt Drive, Birmingham). As always, remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate attire.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
(Questions about accessibility? Email us for more information about how we can meet your needs. Also note: Red Mountain Park has gone to great efforts to make their park accessible to people with disabilities, making this Gosse Nature Walk a good fit for people using wheelchairs.)
Trip leader: Birmingham Audubon Partnership & Policy Director Chris Oberholster leads this trip. His cell is 205-966-1547 (day of event only). For more information, email our Outreach & Communications Director, or call 205-719-3678, ext. 3.
