Explore this remarkably diverse habitat just a short drive south of the city.

The details: Meetup is at 7 a.m. at the Alabaster McDonald’s (205 South Colonial Drive), located just off I-65 (Exit 238) on US 31. We’ll reconvene at the swamp entrance at 8 a.m.

UPDATE: This trip will also include a short detour to Alabaster’s Warrior Park between 7 and 8 a.m. to search for the famous YELLOW CARDINAL. No guarantees, but Warrior Park has been the site of several positive sightings over the last week…This trip may represent your best opportunity yet to see this elusive celebrity.

As always, remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, a full tank of gas, insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate attire.

(Questions about accessibility? Email us for more information about how we can meet your needs.)

The birds: You can find the most recent eBird report for Ebenezer here.

Trip leader: Susan Barrow (205-253-8667) leads this trip. For more information, or to RSVP, email the Outreach Director.
