With thousands of ducks and a good number of loons, the deep waters of Lake Guntersville deliver excellent waterfowl birding throughout the winter months.

The details: Meetup is at 7 a.m. at the McDonald’s in Pinson (6639 AL Hwy 151), just across from the Village shopping center. As always, remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, a tank full of gas, insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate (in this case, warm) attire.

(Questions about accessibility? Email us for more information about how we can meet your needs.)

The birds: You’ll find the latest eBird records for the lake here.

The food: There are several restaurants in Guntersville, many not far from the shores of the lake.

Trip leader: Greg Harber leads this trip; his cell is 205-807-8055 (day of field trip only).
